Types of Tracking You Will Receive
When your Hipobuy supplier ships, they will provide a tracking number and the carrier name. In 2026, the most common carriers for US-bound shipments are EMS (via China Post), DHL, FedEx, UPS, and dedicated line services like SF Express or YunExpress. Each carrier has its own tracking portal, but universal trackers like 17track.net and ParcelsApp aggregate most major carriers into one search. Save your tracking number immediately and verify it registers on the carrier's site within 48 hours of receiving it.
Common Tracking Statuses Explained
| Shipment Info Received | Label created but package not yet picked up. Normal for 1-3 days. |
| In Transit / Handed to Carrier | Package is moving through the origin country network. Updates every 1-3 days. |
| Arrived at Export Hub | Package has reached the international departure facility. Usually 1-2 days before outbound flight. |
| Departed Origin Country | In flight or on vessel to destination. Often the longest gap without updates. |
| Arrived at Destination Hub | Package has cleared customs or is awaiting clearance. Can take 1-7 days. |
| Customs Clearance | Being inspected by customs. Most clear in 24-48 hours. Delays happen during peak seasons. |
| Out for Delivery | Last-mile carrier has the package. Expect delivery within 24 hours. |
When Tracking Goes Silent
Tracking gaps are normal, especially between 'Departed Origin Country' and 'Arrived at Destination Hub.' This gap represents the international transit leg — flight time plus destination port processing — and can last anywhere from 3 days (DHL Express) to 25 days (sea freight). If your tracking has not updated in 10+ days for air shipments, check the universal tracker rather than the carrier's site alone; some carriers do not share intermediate scan data with partner sites. For sea freight, silence for 30+ days is still within normal range.
What to Do If Something Seems Wrong
- 1Wait at least 10 days after the last update before contacting the supplier about air shipments.
- 2Check universal trackers (17track, ParcelsApp) before assuming the package is lost.
- 3Contact the last-mile carrier directly if the package has reached your country but stalled.
- 4If the tracking number never registers, contact the supplier immediately — it may be a label error.
- 5For customs holds over 7 days, contact the carrier with your tracking number for clearance instructions.
